Hello everyone!!! I have a little surprise for you....want to guess??? Well, I'll just tell you since you've probably figured it out already. In last couple of moths I have been honored with these few awards from other amazing bloggers and I'm going to share them with some of you. I'm simplifying the rules, I hope you won't mind! Sorry for posting this so late but I've been busy with all of the Fashion Weeks's posts.

One of my favorite trends for spring and summer is military inspired pieces in olive and khaki. The photo shoot from this month's Vogue issue inspired me to come up with this military outfit. I hope you like it. Will you be following the military trend this summer?
It seems that John Galliano's inspiration for his fine, delicate, chiffon gowns was the 18th century. The big contrast between the chiffon dresses and the luxurious leather capes and coats made a strong, unforgettable collection which left e everyone waiting for more. The only desirable items weren't the dresses and capes but also the thigh high boots (over the knee boot lovers you'll be happy this season) and the masculine oversized hats.
Nicolas Ghesquière experimented with geometric shapes, a patchwork of glossy and matted fabrics which looked like newspapers and magazines.He also added fur to the waist of coats in his new collection for Balenciaga which had a color pallete of aqua, tangerine, brown, and light blue . The inspiration behind his creativity was unusual; "I was working on something domestic. Casual things mixed with classic and a kind of rigidity," said Nicolas Ghesquière (source style.com). According to Style.com "This is fashion by a unique originator who sources ideas in the industrial, scientific, computer-generated possibilities of the twenty-first centuary." Nicolas Ghesquière pushed the envelope and that's exactly what fashion needs.
Before his show Karl Lagerfeld said that "modern is for today." It's true, the tailored jackets and the glossy leather pants from his collection for Fall 2010 created a strong silhouette which was modern but at the same time very classy. The hair style was also quite impressive. In a Style.com video, Odile Gilbert, the signature's hair stylist, explains the reason why the hair was pulled up by a glossy leather black headband; "We're making it higher because it's cold and you need to be surrounded:" According to Style.com Karl Lagerfeld's "own name impressively encompassed past, present, and future."

Balmain:
Christopher Decarnin switched from his military inspired summer collection to a much classier collection which had a touch of gold baroque style. His inspiration from the seventies was based on the photo of a woman "in impeccable Balmain couture menswear pantsuit." This season had a lot more of day wear, such as suits and the distinguished Balmain jackets, than last season's. Which women would mind to have one of those jackets or dresses? Probably no one.
"I was thinking of the ski world, the scuba world and the colors of the Bauhaus" said Riccardo Tisci. The colors-black, beige, and red-, and the fabrics ( especially the knitwear with snowflake-patterned knits) did have a nineties aspect with a sporty twist. Feathers, as seen on the previous couture collection, were still there and this time they were accompanied with the geometric shapes of the short dresses.
Ready for a visit with Chanel to Antarctica? Well, you should come prepare with furry trousers and coats , just like the three "bears" on real icebergs at the Chanel show, because it's freezing. According to Style.com "the Karl conceit of the season, no surprises, was an in-every-way extravagant play on Coco in cold weather." It probably was the most outstanding and creative show at PFW and who would have imagined it after Karl Lagerfeld's last chic farm inspired collection? Do you think this Karl's response to climate change?
In any case, Karl Lagerfeld has again demonstrated that he's a genius.
The new Valentino designers, Pier Paolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri, are modernizing the Valentino DNA by adding ruffles to the hem of little dresses which were worn with tiny jackets. They still kept Valentino's signature red color on some of the garments such as the every-girl's-dream gowns.
Marc Jacobs take this season is quite different from his previous spring collection. The standout pieces were dresses with a corseted bodices and a low opened collars , reveling some of the bosom, and petticoated skirts which reminded to old glamorous 50s movies. According to Style.com "Jacobs framed it more as a fresh, feminine, ingenue look, with hair scraped back into high, bouncy B.B. ponytails; clean makeup; and square-toed, block-heeled pumps trimmed with flat bows—another angle on the Mad Men era but this time with a charming Frenchified accent. " The model casting had been different too since real women were part of it as well.
So, which one is your favorite? For me it's a tough decision since I like something about every collection. Though, I have to say that Chanel's collection left me breathless.
Paris Fashion Week has always been my favorite and I wish next time, I'll have the chance to go and blog from there! Hopefully :)

I could spend hours looking at Street Style pictures. I find them very inspirational and interesting. Fashion Weeks are generally the best place for street style pictures since fashion editors, bloggers, and models usually attend to those events wearing outfits that can leave you breathless. Here's some that I have selected for you from Paris Fashion Week. I hope you'll enjoy them as much as I do and tell me what you like about them.
Hello fellow fashionistas! I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far. Today's outfit is a Paris Fashion Week Special. I always dream about going to PFW since it's one of my favorites Fashion Weeks. So today I created a look that I would wear if my dream came true. What do you think? I know that I would be taking a risk by wearing those high heels, but fashion is about taking risks right? And after all, it's PFW and you want to be noticed among the crowd. I also thought that the cute strawberry earrings gave it a certain charm.
By the way, check outTommy Ton's street-style shoots from Paris. They will leave you breathless.

As I promised, here's my review about Milan Fashion Week.
There's no other word that can describe Milan Fashion Week. Glamour, elegance, sophistication, and perfection are not enough. Maybe breathtaking could be a better adjective but still, it's not what I'm looking for. If you don't believe me, look at it yourself.
Versace:
Donatella Versace switched from her pastel-colored dresses from her Spring 2010 collection to tailoring. The pachtwork pants and leather blazer gave a rock&roll spirit to the collection. The typical short and tight Versace dresses were still there, but this time the bodice was corseted with glossy fabrics making it look like armor. According to Style.com "Even in times when all the fashion chat is about calming down and pulling back, there's still plenty of room for designers whose natural instinct is to fly the opposite way."
Most of the garments in Giorgio Armani's collection had black velvet, so the stand out pieces were in color. One which I particularly found breathtaking is a oversized green velvet coat (shown on the left hand side on the second row of this collage). The needle-heeled stilettos and fringed berets, which looked like dangling leaves, were intriguing. I'm looking forward to Armani's Fall Haute Couture collection.
"It's normal clothes, classics. Revising things I did in the nineties" said Miucci Prada backstage (source: style.com) Since black was everywhere among 50s and 60s inspired dresses, the tweedy knee-length socks, pointed high heels, and futuristic were certainly eye catching.
After her show, Frida Giannini said "I've grown up. It's more mature clothes for more mature women, because that's what I am." The palette of neutral colors gave a more mature spirit to the collection but it still had some youth and said GUCCI. One of my favorite shows at MFW.
Dolce & Gabbana showed their classics, such as the men's tailored jacket fitted on the women's body and leopard print garments. A video behind the runway showed Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana in their ateliers, tailoring, sketching, and taking measurements with white coated women and men. At the end of the show, an army of models wearing black tailored jackets came down the runway, leaving everyone breathless. In a video from Style.com Stefano Gabbana said " We make it again in a different way, and you fall in love again with Dolce & Gabbana:"
Roberto Cavalli went for a rich-hippie look with multi layered pieces for Fall 2010. The collection had a vintage feeling which could be found in the use of studded leather, brocade, embroideries, and dévoré. Harem pants and military coats were among the stand out pieces.
