Saturday Outfit: Going Tribal

Tribal-2
There was a strong tribal influence in the catwalks this season. Even though spring has already come, I'm not really convinced weather I like this trend or not. I do feel is something new and I should give it a try so today I decided to have a tribal inspired outfit for this week's Saturday Outfit. If some of you are still unsure weather to follow this trend or not, even if it's not your style give it a try. It's the only way to see if you like it or not. After all, it's always refreshing to try new things.

The editorial from Vogue France November 2009 has been my inspiration for this week's Saturday Outfit. I think the model, Isabelli Fontana played a fantastic role in this photo shoot and the makeup really emphasizes that tribal spirit.

  10. I am all for African prints! Being a South African I am proud to say that these prints and colours are far from a rare sight for me on the streets of even the most "westernised/Gucci-ed out" of areas (like the johannesburg CBD of Sandton)...traditional prints, colours and African cultural dress is divine. Eat your heart out Pucci! :) xxx

Brilliant choices! I hope you could imagine the warmth of the African sun when you wore your gorgeous ensemble?

  11. Hello trendy fashionista,
I really like this post! I think this tribal trend will go very far, and while shopping this weekend I was very inspired by some of the most recent editorials in magazines I picked up. I found this beaded belt in a thrift shop which has the colors of Ghana's flag, and I cannot wait to pair it with some cute cut offs! Your blog is getting even better since the last time I stopped by! Fantastic job!

  12. Like you I'm still not fully taken with this trend. I love donning the tribal accessories for summer though - big bangles, killer necklaces and gladiators with embellishments look amazing in the blazing heat. Big tribal print dresses tend to drown me out though!

  15. I am a buyer for yogoego.com and we love the whole tribal vibe!! The pictures are inspiring but if you fancy a version that won't break the bank they are around. We have a great aztec print dress on site that does the job..http://www.yogoego.com/product-details/100/301/5597/Fashion/Evening-Dresses/YOGO-EGO-Aztec-Print-Cotton-Shift-Dress.htm

  16. I don't mind the ehtnic/tribal trend, but not on me personally. I used to love it, but it isn't very 'me' anymore. I do think the easiest way to work this trend is with jewelry or to integrate key pieces rather than do a head-to-toe look. Great selection as always and that was one of my favorite Vogue Paris editorials!
