2010 Trend: Capes, Capelets, and Cloaks

Capes, Capelets, and Cloaks have existed through OUT much of our human history. From medival times to fringed ponchos in the 1960s. After a long time the cape is back as one of the major 2010 trends.

There is a large variety of capes but these are the most common styles:

Capes and Capelets:
Capes are a form of outwear that usually opens at the front and has no sleeves, instead it has slits for the arms. Capelets are very similar to capes, they are just shorter and cover the shoulders.Capes will be a trend for the coming cold months. It was extremely popular in the Autumn/Fall winter runways.
Cloaks:
Cloaks are very similar to capes. Theya re only longer-ussualy mid-calf but often as long as ankle lenght- and completly sleeveless.
Shawls, Stoles, and Wraps:
Since they are loosely-worn an wrapped around the shoulders they are usually for evening wear. Traditionally Sawls, Stoles, and Wraps have been made from luxurious fabrics like silk, brodure, and fur.
Ponchos:
Marc Jacobs was one of the people who designed ponchos for the Autumn(Fall)/Winter runway 2010. A poncho is a simple square of fabric with a whole in the middle for one's head.
