Le Ball Masqué

It was the time of the year when everyone dressed up, with capes, lace, masks, and such.  When the last day of October finally came, no one could hide their excitement any longer and all of them went to trick or treat around the gleaming city of lights. It was a beautiful night in Paris, the pith black sky only had a couple twinkly stars that all seemed to be tremendously far. There were a few gentle cold breezes of air from time to time, which made the leaves swirl until they reached the ground. The girls were freezing, as the cold penetrated through their skin. But, they tried their hardest to ignore all of their goose bumps since they knew they would soon be there. When they finally reached their destination, all the girls were flabbergasted. They never imagined Carine's party could look as spooky as a haunted house, but of course, it was extremely more stylish. A big sign with red bloody letters hung from the doorknob. It said "Ball Masqué. Pas de masque, pas d'entrée."  Even though some girls had left their masks at home, they still knocked on the door. When Carine opened the door they asked "Trick or treat?" The night was just going to start...

Asos: What's Not to Love?

Lately, this is one of the best lookbooks I have seen. It is simple, aesthetically pleasing , and everything comes in the right amount. Just like cupcakes: the dough needs to be simple with the right amounts of flour, sugar, eggs, and baking soda. Then, you can decorate them with frosting and sprinkles to make them look delicious.


The styling of this lookbook is perfect. The color palette, which consists of nudes, browns, greens, and a touch of violet, is ideal for this season. The combination of different textures, like knit, leather, fur, and chiffon make the outfits even more interesting and appealing. And then, there is the perfect girl for the brand; young, beautiful, and fresh. I don't know who the model is but I think she will have a promising future.
So, what's not to love?  I think this lookbook has completed its task successfully. It isn't only beautifully styled  but it is also simple. On top of that it draws the costumer's attention immediately. Just admit it, wouldn't you love to have a few of these pieces?

Interview with Emilie from My Little Fashion Diary

Have you ever wanted to read someone else's diary? What if I tell you that the person who owns the diary attends all kinds of fashion events, goes to Fashion Weeks, meets celebrities, and inspires you with the pictures of her "Looks of the Day" that she keeps inside it. Would you read it? Well, if you answered yes (and I hope most of you did) Emilie,gives us the key to her Little Fashion Diary and lets us know more about her world beyond fashion.

The Trendy Fashionista (me): 1-Tell me something about your life, educational background, and family. What do you actually do for living?
Emilie: 'm French, I studied Marketing and Communication and worked in Paris in fashion during 2 years.
Then I met someone in Luxembourg and moved there. 
I'm now the manager of a real estate and I'm in charge of the Communication department.
TTF: 2-How did you become interested in the world of fashion?
E: I think I've always been interested in fashion, even when I was a child :)







TTF: 3-You have recently been to Paris Fashion Week , attended amazing shows including Dior, Sonia Rykiel, Valentino, and meet many other fashion bloggers, magazine editors, and legends of the fashion
industry. How did you have that amazing opportunity that millions of girls out there would die for? What is something you will never forget about that adventure?
E: Going to Fashion Week is amazing.
You are there, running around, going from a show to another, meeting great bloggers, photographers, models, designers, it's a wonderful experience for any girl who loves fashion!
And it's always amazing to watch all the great looks in the street during this time of the year!
Is there anything I will always remember about this season? Well, at the Valentino show I met Alexa Chung... and she came to me to tell me how much she loved my outfit! I died!

TTF: 4-Everyone knows that during PFW, there are many street style photographers, icons of the fashion industry, and celebrities. So what are a few things to keep in mind when you have to decide what to wear to PFW?
E: The great thing is that during fashion week you can play with clothes and dress as you want! You can be creative and express yourself!
I always stick to my style and wear my favorite items like the Chanel suit or the Balmain jacket you may have seen in my posts! 
I've got some great pieces I use a few times, but in a wonderful way!


TTF: 5-From your blog’s name I’m sure many of your readers wonder if you actually keep a diary or if you have ever kept one in the past. Do you?
E: Yes, I kept a diary when I was a teenager! I really wonder where it can be now! It would be funny to read it!

TTF: 6- What or who inspires you when you style an outfit for some of your posts?
E: I take some inspiration from fashion magazines, street style blogs, my favorite is Stockholm Street Style ( I was so happy to get featured there during Fashion Week), and I like to express myself through my outfits!




TTF: 7- Autumn, your favourite season, is here. What trends are you
definitely following this season?
E: This season, I'm loving shearling, aviators jacket, leopard accessories, brown and camel tons!
TTF: 8- Do you have any dreams you would like to see become true in the next few years?
E: I would love to work for a fashion magazine ;)

Better Late than Never: Fall/Winter 2010 Trends

Yes, Fall is definitely here and it will stay for a while, followed by its sibling Winter. And it is never too late to follow trends, right? After all, they always help you out when you are looking for something to buy around stores or when you simply don't have a clue of what to wear in the morning.



Capes, you can't leave the house without one.




Cat prints are all over the runway! Wear them as dresses, coats or even accessories like bags, belts, and pumps.





Don't worry animal lovers, even faux fur counts. Just remember that nothing will keep you warmer and give you that instant glamour as fur does.



Camel is the new black It just goes with everything and looks fabulous on everyone. You'll want to wear it forever.



Shearling jacket, one word: must-have. Look at Burberry's shearling jackets in shades of khakis and chocolates and you'll never go wrong. Give it a twist and wear yours with a party dress.





Knits are the perfect piece to have in your closet. During fall wear them while the temperate is still slightly warm. During Winter they'll be a must for your layered look.



Menswear inspired suits are the key.





As Coco Chanel said "Always take something off before leaving the house". One thing to keep in mind is that  less is more. Simplicity and luxury combined give the best effect.



This Fall color, color, and more color won't hurt because that is what it is all about! And the way to wear it, very simple: from head-to-toe.


It's all about curves and a touch of femininity and vintage.


Note: Don't feel as though you need to follow trends just because you see them all over fashion magazines and fashion blogs. Follow them because you like them or want to experiment and play with something new. Most importantly don't wear a total look, you wouldn't want to look like a picture of style.com would you?

Fall Is in the Air

And autumn is finally here. You can feel it in the air as a nice gentle breeze blows on your face. The leaves are gradually turning to different shades of brown and orange as if someone had painted them. Then, they swirl and gently lie on the ground until it is all covered looking like a blanket that makes a slight cracking sound as you take your next step. Yes, fall is definitely here and it better not leave yet.
